You may also be at risk if you’ve had bariatric surgery or have conditions like pernicious anaemia, which affect absorption.

💉 About the Injection

We administer Hydroxocobalamin 1000mcg — the only form of injectable Vitamin B12 currently approved and used in the UK.

• Given as a quick intramuscular injection in your upper arm
• Typically used to treat or maintain levels after confirmed deficiency
• May be required every 2 to 3 months for pernicious anaemia, or every 6 months for dietary deficiencies

The injection is usually well tolerated, though mild redness or soreness at the site may occur.

You may be eligible for the B12 injection if:

1. have been diagnosed by their GP as Vit B12 deficient e.g. pernicious anaemia
2. You have undergone gastric or bariatric surgery and require ongoing B12 support
3. require active Vit B12 boost to help enhance energy levels and metabolism general health and wellbeing
4. have malabsorption of Vit B12 due to metformin, proton pump inhibitors, H2 antagonists, anticonvulsants(Phenytoin, barbiturates and primidone)
